Animal populations have declined an astonishing 60 percent since 1970

WWF assessed 4,000 species of birds, mammals, fish, and reptiles. On average, they’re facing huge losses. The Earth of the near future will be warmer, with higher seas and stronger storms. And, as we’re learning, it will also have far fewer species of animals.
