Katharine McPhee to Make Broadway Debut in ‘Waitress’ – Not ‘Bombshell’

Katharine McPhee, the former star of “American Idol” and NBC’s Broadway-set series “Smash,” is now slated to make her Broadway debut in the hit musical “Waitress,” show producers announced Wednesday.

McPhee will take over the title role in the musical starting April 10 for a run slated to continue through June 17.

“Waitress“ opened April 24, 2016 at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre, based on the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly and earned Tony nominations for original star Jessie Mueller, composer Sara Bareilles as well as Best Musical.
