Mamata Banerjee asks West Bengal border districts to remain vigilant, inform authorities of Maoist activity

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday raised concerns over the growing Maoist activity in the state’s Jhargram region.

She was in the region on occasion of International Tribal Day. “In Belpahari, some miscreants are bringing in Maoists from Jharkhand because they want to see Bengal bleed. Do not support Maoists or let them enter this region. I have nothing against the people of Jharkhand, but condemn Maoist activity. Be vigilant and do not believe in rumours,” she told the people at the rally.
