None Of The Other Rod Carriers Stand A Chance

My son and I have been fly fishing for quite a long time now. I gave it a try with him when he was pretty young, and made a decision to stick with it. I wanted to get him started early so that it was basically ingrained in his soul at that point.

It was our main hobby as he was growing up, and it was extremely important to both of us. He developed some other interests of course, and I had other things to get done as well, but it remained a consistent thing in our lives, and was our common ground.

When he was in his late teens, we began to travel for fly fishing. We entered tournaments here and there, but mostly just went on trips to relax, enjoy our sport and each other’s company. It was always a nice and relaxing experience.

We eventually needed to find a more convenient way to transport our rods. Having them set between us on trips just wasn’t cutting it anymore, especially since my son was growing like a weed. He needed his arm room

I purchased a 2 rod carrier from a pretty well known brand; it was one that I’d trusted with other products in the past so I figured I couldn’t really go wrong. In this instance, I was incorrect. I was not happy with the product. It was noisy and it shifted during travel and left some scuff marks on the roof of my vehicle.

When we got home, I immediately returned it. I spent some time doing more intense research because I didn’t want to have to go through this again. Instead of making a decision based on the brand, I actually read about each product thoroughly and made a checklist of features and potential downfalls.

When it was decision making time, I opted for the Riversmith River Quiver Rod Carrier that carries 2 rods from Trouts Fly Fishing. My investigative nature paid off, because it ended up being a wonderful decision.

There’s virtually no noise, which is a huge plus for me. The carrier doesn’t shift during travel. I no longer have to worry about scratching the roof of a leased vehicle and dealing with the damage later on.

I only have one other brand to compare to, but I really don’t think the others stand a chance against Trouts Fly Fishing. I recommend the product and the company to every person I know that likes fly fishing.
